Batangas is one of the quickest beach get away from Manila. So one weekend, my friends and I went to this remote island in Brgy. Calayo, Nasugbu, Batangas. For first timers, it was a bit far. I think it took us almost four hours to get there with my friend driving.
And this is what we have found.
We stayed here overnight and we have the entire island to ourselves. My friend and I stayed in a tent while our guest from couchsurfing.com stayed at his hammock. Since I have a friend who lives nearby, she was our source of food and boat transportation.
The beach is ours!!!
How to get here:
By car: Just take the Nasugbu route from Tagaytay.
By bus: Getting on the bus to Nasugbu is relatively easy, as there are two main companies who do a direct travel to the area. These buses are the DLTB bus and the BSC-MRT Pasay Taft. The DLTB bus is located at the Buendia Taft Avenue corner Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue while the BSC-MRT Pasay Taft bus is located at the back of the McDonalds building. Where to Stay: There are resorts in the area but we opted to stay in this island with our tent and hammock. We rented a boat (you can haggle with the boatman) to get to this island.
Expenses: Since there were three of us, we paid total of P900/pax including the food, boat and gas for the car.
Since summer is almost here, what are you waiting for? Check this out before it gets crowded!
Philippine beaches are amazing! I almost forgot, bring your own snorkeling gear and enjoy the hard but alive corals in this beach!
Island friends!
Happy Summer! :)
